Check out this incredible patient perspective on ketamine written by one of our patients. Dan has been vocal about his success with ketamine in an effort to educate others. His words are powerful and his piece in Medium is absolutely worth a read, particularly if you’ve ever considered ketamine as solution:
The last Friday of every month, I rise early and join the morning commuters on the train headed downtown. As I look at the passengers around me, I feel like a stranger. They’re all on their way to work, but I don’t work anymore. I’ll be getting off a few stops before the business district. I’m on my way to get an infusion of ketamine.
Ketamine is increasingly touted as a miracle drug for a variety of ailments including depression, PTSD, chronic pain, and addiction. However, its application in the domain of mental health is relatively new, so it remains largely misunderstood. I’ve been taking ketamine to treat depression and PTSD since February 2019 and in that time, I’ve encountered a lot of misconceptions about it that I’d like to dispel. My goal for this patient perspective is to provide insight into both ketamine itself and the experience of it as a treatment for mental health.
